Thought you might like to see this card Iv'e made for my mother-in-law. She loves purples!
In the shop this week I have been telling people about this new cuttlebug folder I got called "Wen's Window" and how they could use it (Jenny). Anyway I was itching to play with it myself so I thought I could use it on mums card.
I used an A5 folded card which is outside my comfort zone as I usually like to use square cards. First I cut a piece of Wisteria cordination card and embossed the window (Wen's Window) . I sanded the frame to highlight it then took a piece of plain smooth white card and embossed that with the butterfly (Jules Jewells) cuttlebug folder. I coloured the embossing with chalks and trimmed down to fit the inside of the frame. Then cut a piece of Purple pansy cordination card for the background layer and punched the bottom with Marther Stewart edger (Floral Band).I found a ribbon to match and Tied around before sticking down to the card. Next I coloured my new Magnolia Stamp (Noble Tilda) with Promarkers, cut her out and mounted onto the card with 3D foam pads. I added a little diamond stickles to the butterflies for effect, stamped the sentiment and added Glitteratti dots to finish. I was rather pleased with the finish. The window would also look great embossed on Mirri card with the center cut out and have acetate put behind for a shaker effect. OOOO or maybe do a white on white effect or vintage with Distress Inks. Well I think i'm off to play some more!!!!
Hugs Di xx
