#41 Birthdays Only

Hellooooo,
Gosh i'm late!!!! So sorry i'm posting a day late because I have been busy making a birthday cake for my mums 70th, I haven't made her card yet!!. I had my card made and photographed but forgot to set it up on the blog.

Anyway we are starting another new challenge over at HERE COME THE BOYS.
# 41 Birthdays Only

I know time is running fast now up to christmas but if you still have some male birthdays or spare time why not hop over to our challenge blog and enter.

I used my trusted cuttlebug and embossing folder to create the background paper and sanded it back to highlight the script pattern. Next I stamped sitting Edwin onto some card stock and placed a star Nestability over the image and cut out all in one. I coloured Edwin and distressed the star, then punched a smaller star with a 2" woodware punch and punched 3 small stars. I added a Personal impressions sentiment and matted the two stars to match the background. I finished up with adding a little knotted ribbon to tie it all together!
I hope you like.

This reminds me of the bit of the film near the end where the snowman changes into the spirit of the boys Dad.....MAGICAL!!! and it brings a tear to my eyes. So go on...hop over to HERE COME THE BOYS and join in...im sure you all have a fav film but remember it has to be for a man or boy!

#39 Die Cuts and Punches

Hi, definately getting colder now isn't it!
Well thanks to everyone who entered our Edwin only challenge we had some great entries. Now it's time to start a new challenge over at HERE COME THE BOYS.

#39 Die Cuts and Punches

Well I pondered on what to do....we're sponsored this time by Bugaboo and of course we need to make a card for a man!

So I decided to use some punches as I haven't used these for a long time. The image is from Bugaboo and as you can see I got my trustied circle punches out and built a snowman. I blame this cold weather were having for inspiration!! Also I dug out a snowflake and Label punch too...the snowmans arms are snipped from a leaf punch! Why not join us and have a go yourself!! Remember to make the card for a male and to use Die cuts and or punches too!
I hope you like!

#38 Edwin Only

Morning Campers!
Two weeks has come around again and so it's time for a new challenge over at HERE COME THE BOYS.
First I would just like to say thankyou to everyone that joined us for the last 'Monochrome' challenge....fantastic entries! well done to all who won.

Now on to this weeks challenge.....we are looking for cards/creations that have only an Edwin image on. So if you have any stamps with Edwin we would love for you to join us and make something for a man or boy and enter our challenge today!
This is my DT card for the challenge why not hop on over to HERE COME THE BOYS and see what the other girls have created to give you inspiration!

This Edwin was stamped out when I was crafting at my friends house, the trees were not part of the stamp so I masked off Edwin and stamped behind him. Then I coloured and cut out another tree and attached it with some foam pads. I just had to use a little Antique Linen to soften the edges. So go on and have go. I hope you like.

#37 Monochrome

Hello,
It's definately turning into autumn now......the days are getting colder!!
I would just like to say thanks to all who entered our challenge and well done to those who won and made the top 4/5.
So anyways... moving on.... the last fortnight has raced up on us again and over at HERE COME THE BOYS we are starting another new challenge which is
#37 Monochrome
Now for those who are not quite sure what (monochrome) is, quite simply all it means is (one colour) So for my DT card I decided to make mine all shades of Blue.

I used my promarkers for colouring my Mo Manning image as they have so many shades to choose from. Then just some simple matting and layering with different paper and card. Wht not have a go yourself but remember the card has to be intended for a man or boy!

#36 Recipe

Morning All,
Well today is a lot cooler than last weekend and so I think the autumn weather is on it's way if this keeps up!!
Summer holidays are over for most and we can all settle back into our crafting chairs more easily ready for winter card making.
So with this in mind we at HERE COME THE BOYS are starting a new challenge

#36 Recipe
3 Papers, 2 Buttons/ Brads and 1 Image

Lots of scope for designing to your hearts content I hear you say! But don't forget our blog is intended to design for the Boys / Men in our life! So here is one I made earlier.

I have a family birthday coming up soon so I thought I'd better get the card done early. I found this fab Digi image in Mo Mannings Digital Pencil web shop. All I had to do is match up 3 papers and colour my image with promarkers. With that done I set to planning a lay out with matting and layering my background. Then added a couple of Brads. I hope you like my card and feel inspired to have a go and enter our challenge too.

#34 Sketch

Hi to everyone,
I am sooo sorry for posting this late it's unforgiveable really but I have just lost time somewhere!!....don't quite know where!..... Anyways
Thanks to all who entered our challenge over the last fortnight....there were some fantastic creations it was hard to choose a winner!!! Now on to the new fortnights challege over at HERE COME THE BOYS.

So this my interpretation of this great little sketch the DT had to design. I always seem to steer away from using striped paper because I sometimes loose the design...but I think this time it worked ok! i actually got out my cuttlebug embossing folders for the stars piece! And of course I had to use a Lily of the Valley stamp coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment is a digi image from Sentiments 4 You

I hope you like and hop over to see what the rest of the DT have come up with!! while your there don't forget to have a go your self....you might win a prize!

Anyways hop on over to our blog see what the team have come up with then have a go yourself. You could make a bookmark, a door hanger an altered tin or even a scrap page like me!

#21 Vintage Feel

Helloooo...

Well it's that time again and we have another new challenge over at HERE COME THE BOYS. The theme this time around is VINTAGE FEEL. So we are asking all you lovely card makers to create a card for a man or boy in mind using a Vintage/ Antique or distressed feel to it. Here is my interpretation.

I had a fab time while I was making this card as I was spending the day with my dear friend at a crop day. We were crafting to our hearts content!! The image is an Edwin stamp that I have had for some time. I coloured him with wax pencils and odourless spirit then cut and mounted him on a nestie shaded with vintage photo ink. The DP was distressed with a tool and vintage ink. I then stamped the sentiment using one of Lynnes ticket stamps and distressed some of her twine, all available from Crafts 4 You.
I hope you like and have a go at this challenge your self. Check out what the rest of the team have created too. xxx

# 20 Favourite Song

Happy Sunday
Wow do we have snow here in Essex!!! Yipppeeeee........ about 17cms.

Another new challenge over at HERE COME THE BOYS starts today. The theme is Favourite Song, so I have chosen Born To Be Wild by Stephon Wolf

This gorgeous image is a digi from Mo Manning called Biker Babe and I thought it was so fitting to my choise of song. I kept the sketch simple and used my promarkers to colour him in.
Hop on over to the blog and see what great cards the rest of the team have created. In the meantime I hope you like mine. xxx
